Punto Limpio (Clean Point) certification from Mexico’s federal government.

Some of the new policies include: 

Arrival

 

  • Check-in and check-out is paperless and contactless; in lieu of keys, guest use a key system that works via a mobile app
  • Villa hosts and butlers wear masks and gloves
  • Each guest receives a Care Kit with masks, alcohol wipes and hand sanitizer

 

Dining and entertainment

 

  • Dining tables at the already expansive Arbol restaurant overlooking the Oasis and Sea of Cortez (one of five dining venues) are spread further apart
  • Menus are paperless and QR codes allow guests to browse menus and place restaurant orders directly from personal devices
  • Artist in residence, Cuban singer and entertainer Rosalia de Cuba, performs live outdoors area rather than at the resort’s speakeasy
  • Minibar snacks and other items are individually wrapped

 

Transportation

 

  • Luggage is disinfected before being placed in any vehicle
  • Drivers wear masks and gloves, and all vehicles are sanitized and cleaned

 

Housekeeping

 

  • Upon arrival, guests are asked their preferences for turn down and refreshing units; services are provided when guests aren’t in their rooms
  • Information cards outline how each room is sanitized and cleaned between guests
  • Magazines, nonessential glassware and private bar items have been removed
  • All amenities, such as slippers, Q-tips, cotton balls, bath salts, etc., are individually packaged 
  • Back-to-back room bookings are avoided to allow for deep cleaning

 

Beach and pools 

 

  • To ensure physical distancing, the resort pairs guests with their own designated beach and pool cabanas for the duration of their stay 

 

Spa and fitness

 

  • Repeat cleaning takes place between services or equipment usage
  • Communal snacks and infused water are no longer offered in the lounge area
  • Fitness machines are spaced for social distancing

 

Other

 

  • All staff undergo mandatory health and safety training
  • New cleaning procedures for accommodations and spa treatment rooms includes the use of protective equipment, ozone machines and other recommended tools
  • Thermal cameras check temperatures of guests and associates as they enter
