Meet Douglas Christensen, CIPS, CNE
I was a pioneer of the real estate industry in Los Cabos. Arriving to the dirt-street village of Cabo San Lucas, when the population count was announced on a small sign at the entrance to the town as 14,000 Habitantes, your "servidor" (servant) was employed by the only real estate brokerage in town (There are now over 100 in our state of BCS).
From humble beginnings, the town, and the subsequent Municipality of Los Cabos, have provided an education- in real estate, Spanish language, Mexican Law and commerce, and of course in the culture.
In 1997, as a result of repeated encounters by myself and potential customers with "coyote" agents dealing from briefcases in the trunks of their get-away cars, I gathered 16 real estate company owners from that time into a meeting from which emerged a commitment to create an online database of listings in Los Cabos, and a set of rules under which we would agree to operate.
In 2014, that organization was reformed as MLS BCS, and I became the first President of a statewide MLS system. I still serve as it's VP, and am in charge of inventory mapping systems.
I hold the follwoing designations:
CIPS- Certified International Property Specialist
CNE - Certified Negotiation Expert
ABR - Accredited Buyer Representative Graduate
I have studied with Development and Construction Planning at Technologico de Monterrey.
I hold License #44 under the State of Baja California Sur Real Estate Agent licensing law.
