Professional Background I spent 15 years under the tutelage of Baja's most widely respected real estate brokers of the 1970's to 90's, Mark Dixon and Don Harris, and their attorneys and accountants. I have spent many lunch hours learning the ins and outs of Mexican land entitlement issues with local title experts Jorge Rodriguez and Sara Gorosave, who are between them the trusted official researchers of all the American title insurance companies that are active in Mexico. Personal My passion is participating in the creation of Los Cabos, and in the maintenance of an incredible network of international friendships that span the known continents. The interesting people I have met here hail from Italy to Iceland, Hong Kong to Geneva, Matanuska to Chattanooga, Vancouver to Peru, Cuba to Capetown. My current recreation choices are golf, fishing and gardening. I maintain a mid-teens handicap, once caught a rare-for-Cabo White Marlin, and enjoy raising bonsai, exotic cactus and wildflowers. My wife Denise is a real animal lover, and we maintain riding horses, parakeets, chickens, dogs, and cats as family members. We are accustomed to desert mule deer, wild burros and even a rattler once in a while as guests visiting our 11+ acre ranchito. You may have seen my column, "Dooglas P.I. On Real Estate", which appeared monthly in Cabo Life magazine for over 9 years, until the retirement of the editor stopped the presses. But I keep writing, perhaps one day the release will be novel material, or a training handbook for rookie real estate salesmen... I am fortunate that in my former life North of the border I was trained in computer science, real estate law and Spanish. I wouldn't trade my life for anyone else's, and I am willing to share all I know, all I have and all I am with those who would join me living a little Heaven here on Earth. |
